What Liberating Power

What Liberating Power

What liberating power in the Cross of Jesus Christ
All of our sin poured out upon that One
Heaven received an offering the choicest there ever was
How worthy was the Lamb of God the Son
The angels sang rejoicingly when Christ the Lord arose
For death could not restrict us from that Home
And every sinner who trusts in Him the Hallelujah's begin again
Angels rejoicing and high fiving around the Throne

How worthy is that Lamb amen continues in our heart's
We are redeemed and forgiven for our sin
Repentance has a satifaction that none other could ever give
Praise God for that day when we put our trust in Him
Living life with exaltation all glory be unto that name
That precious name of Jesus Christ the Lord
Who would have thought that an abundant life could be found in Him
Hallelujah for the foundation of the Word

What liberating power in the Cross of Jesus Christ
Do you know that One who sets the captives free
Who can take a wretched life and turn it right around
What awesomeness of the love He has for you and me
May the Holy Spirit of God prompt you now to pray
God be merciful to a sinner such as I
And call upon that precious name of Jesus Christ the Lord
And begin to live your life in the Light of Eternity!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
