THANKS FOR THE REMINDER

Thanks for the reminder Lord
Of how much You've done for me
For how You shed Your precious blood
And bore such agony
It wasn't a very pleasant sight
That met Your Crucifixion
By marred beyond any other man
Was Your dying disposition

You let those cat of nine tails
Impact Your flesh and bone
Be spit upon and beard plucked
Then mocked with a thorned crown
If Thou be the Son of God!
Then do this and that...
But You held back in silence Lord
It made a definite impact

The Creator with Creation
The lights would soon grow dim
For sin and all it's darkness
Could find no home in Him
The Light of the world..Lord Jesus
Had taken sin's full penalty
And gave of Himself as our ransom
To bring life and liberty

What glory hallelujah's
Immediately began to be sung
The heavenly hosts were singing
To the Father,  the Spirit, the Son
For in three days as per the scripture
The Son of God would arise
And open the One way to heaven
To the believer's true Paradise

Thanks for that reminder Lord
It stirs my heart again
And makes me want to pray the more
For enemies,  brothers,  friends
To live a life and then to die
Without one soul to win
And not tell them the Way to Life
Would definitely be a sin!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
