I Take a Pause

I TAKE A PAUSE

I take a pause to remember.... my Lord each blessed day

So thankful that He came seeking

To take my sin away

And surmounted every obstacle that satan at him threw

Used the Word of God to conquer

His faithfulness He knew

So tender hearted was my Saviour

He loved me ere I knew Him

Yet it was because of my sin

That they took and slew Him

And on that cross drops of blood

The stains of sin prevailed

And left a testimonial sealed

His hands and feet were nailed

With pain and agony entrenched

A broken heart surrendered

And offered up His life at will

Forever more remembered

Dismissed His spirit by His choice

His power..and His alone

Then to leave to heaven from earth

To His Father's throne

O angels recognize His worth

He..the great I Am

And sing their songs of praises there

"How worthy is the Lamb"

We must sing our praises too

And live in full subjection

To that precious Lord of Hosts

Our God and Resurrection!

For soon He's coming back again

We shall see Him face to face

Then live in mansions He's prepared

Such amazing grace

For on that altar of sacrifice

That results in brotherhood

Is that wondrous cleansing power

Of Jesus's precious blood

To each one who realizes their need

With full acknowledgment of sin

To those contrite and repentant heart's

The Saviour will come in

And do His special work of grsce

Because of Calvary

Please take a pause in your busy life

This Saviour died for thee!

Then to your knees in humble prayer

With "Lord save me a sinner...

I cannot pray any better Lord

For Lord...I'm just a beginner"

But I...truly believe... that You died for

me

Accept my thanks for so great Salvation

Praise God for Calvary!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
