O He's Worth The Following

O He's Worth The Following

O He's worth the following
The One who died for me
No greater example in humankind
That lived so wondrously
Who put aside His own will
To do that of His Father
Remaining steadfast in that purpose
Though Satan wished Him to do other

And bound for death upon that Cross
From love He did not waver
His love endured right to the end
What precious Lord and Saviour
Not one sin, no not one
Was ever laid against Him
And fabrications filled with lies
Determined His retention

Love held Him fast to that Cross
Though angels were at His bidding
He refrained from any heavenly help
For the joy set before Him... Our living!
Sin took on serious recognition
That to it He was not enslaved
A three day victory was disannulled
When Christ rose from the grave

Now death has a hollow ring
To us believers saved
It's penalty fully satisfied
Praise God Lord Jesus saves
And our life forevermore
We live it in the present
Witnessed by the Spirit within
Whom our ascended Lord has sent

Christ in me my hope for glory
What Resurrection power
Yes up from the grave He arose
And is living still this hour
Salvation's offer still up to date
No other foundation so sound
Come now and be reconciled to God
Seek the Lord while He may be found!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
