Christ Tasted Death for Every Man
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

CHRIST TASTED DEATH FOR EVERY MAN

Christ tasted death for every man
That all men could be free
God's great love in Him has met
The demands for Surety
The ransom paid, He paid in full
None owing to His praise
Sufficient for the sinner's debt
Was blood that blessed Lamb gave

Love revealed in sacrifice
He laid down His life for me
Stopped the Judgement of God to effect
Sin's fiercest penalty
Redeemed am I, I know the power
Of forgiveness for my sin
And sense the daily presence of
My Lord who dwells within

He breaks that power of cancelled sin
He sets the captives free
That song dictates a praise as well
From ransomed sinner me
Now I see with enlightened eyes
The world as never before
And watch it sway in perilousness
To coming Judgement's Door.

I have a task twas given to me
The moment I believed
Telling others that wondrous news
That Jesus died for me
To live a life of toil and work
That duty leads me too
A task from which I dare not shirk
As Jesus bids me do

My burden now to see a soul
Quickened by His Spirit
Harden not your hearts today
But be ye swift to hear it
The Word of God  steadfast and sure
That Word, our Rock, our Christ
Seek ye the Lord while He may be found
For ye are bought with a price

Beware of the devil that roaring lion
Who is in his final hour
Who relentlessly goes about
Seeking those he may devour
His presence is as sure and real
As light is to the day
The gospel is hid to those who are lost
In whom Satan has his way

Lord on the horizon I am seeing
The enemy come in like a flood
I'm thankful a standard You'll raise up
Because You are True to Your Word
Help me be faithful in Your service
Wandering not to the left or right
But steadfastly, beholding the Saviour
Redeeming the time until night

The night cometh when no man shall work
The lost to the darkness are doomed
That gospel no longer needing to be preached
As we are present with the Bridegroom
All things put under His feet
We'll bow before His Throne
Ransomed, redeemed, delivered from sin
Safe in our Heavenly Home

I wish I could tell it more clearly
You know my hearts deep desire
Lord help me to live sacrificially
To do Your will I  truly aspire
Not clinging to worldly aspirations
I'm not of this world I know
But praise You my God and my Saviour
For what Great Salvation You bestowed

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
