I Cherish My Father's Love
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

I CHERISH MY FATHER'S LOVE
I cherish my Father's love
Since I've been reconciled
Repented, believed on Jesus Christ
Became His precious child
Now a son of God am I
According to His Word
A royal priesthood inheritance
My home in Heaven assured
The world no longer holds
Over me, a sway
I wandered in it's paths too long
But found a better way
The cross, a constant reminder
He saved me from my sin
Paid the price, by His own shed blood
To let this sinner in
Prayer's become my fortress
Along with the Holy Spirit
To give me victory day by day
O brother, sister , hear it
At the earliest possible moment
At the awakening of each day
Turn your heart to the Father
And pray my brother pray
Stand fast in So Great Salvation
Seek ye to serve the Son
No man can serve two masters
Serve ye the Worthy One
For worthy is the Lamb
Who was for sinners slain
Poured out His blood, REDEMPTION'S PLAN!
How worthy is that name
Can I get a HALLELUJAH!
can I get a hearty AMEN!
Let praises ring with gratitude
From those who've been born again
We start our days with power
Power that's from on high
To serve a risen Saviour
Until the day we die
Then death we welcome gladly
For we're off to meet the Son
As well, to meet our loved ones
Who await in the great beyond
There before His presence
We shall see Him face to face
Worthy is the Lamb that was slain
Amazing! Amazing, grace.

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
