God Reveals Himself In The Word

God reveals Himself in the Word
For He's the Author and Finisher of faith
All scripture is given by inspiration of God
Every word...is thus the Lord saith
He doesn't speak from Heaven today
But has given us the Book of Life
Hide it in your heart so you can keep from sin
And refrain from living a life of strife

He is history....He is geography
In the beginning God
You'll find that He's everywhere present
When His Word is understood
He has given a so great Salvation
In the person of Jesus Christ
When sin is acknowledged and repented of
The angels in Heaven rejoice

As God Himself has made this world
The invitation is given to all
Come taste and see that the Lord is good
And on the Lord Jesus Christ do call
Only one name given..praise God
Amongst all other names given on earth
God is not the author of confusion
When it comes to our Spiritual birth

Don't miss out on the greatest of treasures
Who from Heaven to Earth came down
Who bore the weight of all of men's sins
And wore a thorn-filled crown
Behold the King of Righteousness
Who became our sacrificial Lamb
God's offering of His dearest possession
Behold Him the great I Am!

Don't put off today for tomorrow
For tomorrow for you may not come
Today if you hear His still small voice
Today...O sinner please come!
Prepare your heart to meet Thy God
It's your greatest work to do
Seek ye tha Lord while He may be found
While there's still room at the Cross for you!

What's more important than your soul's destiny
What will you be leaving behind
Everything you have garnered up for yourself
Put its thinking from off of your mind
There's a loving Father who exists
To give you a Heavenly home
Come to the Lord today my friend
And enjoy eternal life at His Throne!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
