Hallelujah Be His Name

Thank you heavenly Father
For the giving of your Son
For the greatest gift the world ever received
In the gifting of Salvation
To forgive... such sinner's
Who've turned their back on You
And still to give them grace to believe
When they put their trust in You...

Thank you heavenly Father
That the Cross was your Masterpiece
Indelibly inked upon our minds
For You are our joy and peace
In spite of our sin You still loved us
Forgiveness's fountain was there
For by the shed blood of Jesus Christ
Victory was in the air!

The Resurrection was recorded
Praise God that record still stands
And from the very beginning of time
He still holds the world in His hands
Let repentance become a savor to you
Taste and see that the Lord is good
Hallelujah... be His name
To the honoring of Thy Word!

Keep your thoughts upon the Cross
Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Imagine the Creator of the whole world
Dying that He might save us
The cradle was real...the Cross was real
His coming again is real too
Hallelujah...be His name
Praise God He came to save you!!!

Jesus makes the difference
There's not but a day that goes by
But that He is seeking to save your soul
Ere the night draweth nigh
May prayer become a determination
O Lord will You save my soul
I'm tired of living my own way
O Lord please take control...

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
