God's Silent Love

God's Silent Love

Lord I thank you for Your silent love
That comes in unawares
And helps us in such gradualness
To sense Your presence near
To be still and know...you're God
In that quiet meeting place
As you bestow upon our thoughts
Of Your amazing grace

You sustain and maintain
All that we are and can see
Surrounded by Your blessings Lord
How lowly is man to Thee
Yet You've given us Your highest recognition
As far as Your love goes
For You've sent of Your very best to save us
Your mercy definetly shows

As Holy men recorded Your Word
As the Holy Spirit led them to write
You were silently weaving a cord of love
To lead us to the light
How precious Your Word...the Son
Who entered our world as Deity
The very God of God Himself
Who died on the Cross for me

In silence He opened not His mouth
But He let them lead Him as a Lamb
To become the perfect Sacrifice
And die for the sins of men
Behold!...Behold!...There on the Cross!
The Lamb before sinners...slain!
Heaven's Best!... God sent His love
Earth received its greatest stain...

God has taken care of us
In an extension of mercy and grace
To offer us a so great Salvation
When the Saviour took our place
Forgiveness awaits each sinner
Who acknowledges his sinful ways
And calls upon the Lord Jesus Christ
Whose loving grace awaits

Hear Him in the silence
Feel Him in the Word
Watch Him love in the marketplace
Among the human herd
There's a kindly Shepherd
Willing to lead you home
Come now in the silence of your heart
Be still...and know Thy God!!!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
