I've Bowed My Knee
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

I've Bowed My Knee

I've bowed my knee in humbleness
And admitted the sinner I was
God's Word convicted me thoroughly
To acknowledge His worthy cause
On my behalf He came willingly
For God so loved the world
That He sent His Son as the Sacrifice
To which Satan's dart were hurled

But glory Hallelujah!
Christ's strength was not diminished
For even in His dying breath
He cried out..."It is finished!"
His statement became a proven fact
For in three days a Resurrection
And hallelujah praise the Lord
He did life to perfection!

Praise God we follow in the train
Who went to Calvary
Who took the burden of our sin
To declare that we can be free!
My liberty is found in Christ
The Perfector of Salvation
And every soul that trusts in Him
Shall live with jubilation!

For death had met its Conqueror
And it could not hold Him fast
For He who knew no sin became sin for us
That we might obtain God's righteousness
For sure you'll never feel more clean
Then through the cleansing of the Word
For when faith's applied through the hearing of it
Our Salvation is secured!

Mine to own wholeheartedly
I am Christ's and He is mine
I took the opportunity to believe
And found it genuine
He is no fool who trusts in Him
Who comes by way of the Cross
For God approved of His Sacrifice for sin
And raised Him praise God for us!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
