He Called Lazarus
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

He Called Lazarus

He called Lazarus forth from the grave
And raised Him from the dead
That sounds like a Hallelujah moment to me
Can you imagine the rejoicing there
In the light of this miracle
Authenticating the great Physician's sufficiency

Jesus referred to Lazarus's death as sleeping
And His disciples thought just that
They said, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well
But Jesus spoke of his death
They still thought He'd spoken of rest
But Christ plainly said to them Lazarus is dead pray tell

When Martha heard Jesus was coming
She went out and met Him
But Mary stayed still at her home
Then Martha said unto Him
If You had been here my brother had not died
Then Jesus shared that He was the Resurrection

Martha then swiftly went to call Mary
The Master is come she said
And He calleth for thee
As soon as Mary heard
She arose right quickly
And came unto the man of Galilee

So off they went to Bethany
Where Lazarus now lay
Four days deceased and lying in the cave
And Jesus prayed unto His Father
Thanking Him that He had heard
And then called forth Lazarus from the grave

There was no hesitation with Lazarus
He came forth bound hand and foot
With graveclothes and his face covered with a napkin
Jesus gave the command
Loose him, and let him go
Imagine the Hallelujah's and the hand clapping

This definitely created an atmosphere
Upbeat I might add
And many that came with Mary ...they believed!
But there were still some there  that believed not
In spite of a (in front in their eyes miracle)
And went and told the Pharisees because they were displeased

I've been most blessed by Martha
In this Resurrection story
For she believed that Lazarus would rise again
Especially when she heard Jesus say it
That definitely fortified her faith
And off she went to fetch Mary with a hearty inward amen!

There's joy in the house my friends
When Jesus comes to town
Imagine...the Resurrection and the life
Them that know Him personally
For sure will hear His voice
When we leave this sin filled world and all its strife

I know my own hallelujah
Began at my conversion
That day I repented of my sin
I called upon the Lord Jesus Christ
And turned to God unashamedly
Never a regretful moment since I've put my trust in Him!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
