Thank You Heavenly Father

Thank You Heavenly Father

Thank you Heavenly Father
For when burdens come my way
You minister to me by Your Spirit
And Your Word becomes my Stay
So thankful for those Scriptures
That have become my Surety
Every one of them yea and amen
Your message from Heaven for me

The Light of the world Lord Jesus
In the darkest days of my life
Has bid that darkness to "hit the road"
And filled me with glorious light
In momentary scenarios
I'm just as human as any
But praise God I have a Saviour
Whose Spirit has graced me aplenty

And brought the renewal of my joy again
I've felt its rejuvenation
My soul engineered voices of praise
To the God of my Salvation
And the grief that gripped me fervently
Had found its solace place
Surrendered to the love of God
And surrounded by His grace

Precious music of ministry
That reaches troubled souls
And brings it home once again
Praise God we've been made whole
And every needy heart has room
To trust now in the Son
Who loved to death His whole wide world
And arose to save each one!

Don't leave off the opportunity
To come to the Lord today
Be honest...your soul has burdens too
Why don't you throw them Christ's way
And cast your every care upon
The One who cares for your soul
Looking for a relief valve for your life?
The Lord Jesus can make you whole!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
