Goals - Not Resolutions

Goals – not Resolutions

Be still, know “I am God” – it’s not rocket science.
Renewal – intake of Scripture –
It’s wonderful, thereon, to place your reliance.
For life, there’s no better teacher.

Aim for both physical and spiritual good shape –
Don’t want to die just looking good.
Don’t just use your salvation as a hatch escape.
Read the Word – for eons it’s stood.

So, do not just make those New Year’s resolutions.
Go beyond that for your own good.
If you don’t you’ll find all kinds of substitutions,
Be stuck will all those “shoulds and woulds.”

“--- for bodily discipline is only of little profit,
but godliness is profitable for all things, since it
holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.”

1 Timothy 4:8
New American Standard Bible (NASB)

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
