Shaped

David could not build
This king - a man of war -
Had fought and had killed.
God left no open door.

Stone shaped for its place,
No hammer there was heard.
Purpose set the pace.
God’s blessings undergird.

We are living stones.
Struggles, like the chisel,
Shape these flesh and bones
Into holy vessels.

And when Christ returns
We’ll be all sized and dressed.
For this the heart yearns -
Part of His building blessed.

“And coming to Him as to a living stone,
Rejected by men, but choice and precious in
The sight of God, you also, as living stones,
Are being built up as a spiritual house for a
Holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices
Acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”
1 Peter 2: 4 & 5

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
