Summer

The breeze quivers the leaves like harp strings
There’s a scent like apple blossoms
Weave a string from forget me nots
Wade along the clear creek bottoms.

A bit of heaven here on earth
Golden nubs frost the willow trees
Trees that make a cool green tunnel
Hollyhocks are swarmed by the bees.

Deer sequestered in the hollow
The church roosting on a small knoll
Evening comes as shadows creep
Contentment in body and soul.

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
