Why Palm Sunday

A man riding on a donkey,
People throw garments on the road.
Now they are throwing palm branches.
They’re thinking they have a new king.

Jesus knew what lay before Him,
Had love and compassion for them.
No pride was hidden in His heart.
His face set to do God’s will.

He’d suffer much and be spat on,
Take punishment on the cross.
All this He’d do because of love,
To offer us eternal life.

John 3:16
