The Source

The Source

When in a darkened room down on the farm,

I spied a beam of light shining through.

And with that beam I saw no harm

But beauty in the rays of sun so true.

As I drew nearer to the beam of light

I could see the source from whence it came,

The sun shining with all its might.

Not a cloud floated by its strength to tame.

Do we look at rays instead of The Source,

Like natural things – God’s Creation –

Or those that we love, of course?

There’s a definite delineation.

Do we look all around and then worry,

Or look backward with hearts of sorrow?

Are we, of the future, wary,

Or look to the Source in His tomorrow?

He knows His children and calls them by name.

He cares about ev’ry part of me.

My identity is in Christ,

The Father, the Holy Spirit…all three.
