Thoughts of Heaven

I’m weak, unaware and in need.
We’re all from dust and shall return.
Will life bring forth garbage and weeds,
Or will I be growing and learn?

I remind myself - I will die.
There’s reality in weakness.
Jesus shines on me “from the sky”
In all his power and meekness.

I love my Lord while I’m on earth.
He loved me before I was born.
When I believed He gave rebirth.
Now thoughts of Heaven aren’t forlorn.

Song says, “What a day that will be!”
I’m looking forward to it now.
Then my soul will be truly free!
In His holy presence, I’ll bow.

In case you forgot -  Meekness is strength under control.

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
