Hostile - Helpless - Hopeful

Hostile, Helpless, Hopeful

Hostile just doesn’t care!
Wants nothing to do with God’s Word,
Would persecute God Himself!
Out to get rich any time, anywhere!

Helpless  can’t seem to do.
Fulfillment’s beyond his power.
He tries but then loses heart.
Empowerment’s lost  - no help he views.

Hopeful reads God’s own Word.
Prayer “digs up” God’s own promises.
He has help in life’s struggles.
This old world does not make his faith blurred.

“Those who live according to the flesh have
their minds set on what the flesh desires; but
those who live in accordance with the Spirit
have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.”
Romans 8:5

“In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm”

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
