Have You Missed It?

Have You Missed It?

Palm Sunday brings thoughts of His triumphal entry
In Jerusalem on the colt of a donkey.
Wednesday brings thoughts of the preparation to eat
The Passover meal with Him in quiet retreat.

Jesus talks of what is ahead and tells Judas
Iscariot to go ahead - do what he must.
Then Christ prays in great agony in the Garden
While disciples sleep (not because hearts were hardened).

The Roman soldiers come fast to take Him away.
The disciples run in fear - none of them will stay.
Christ is crucified with thieves on Golgotha's hill.
The disciples meet behind locked doors, afraid still.

The third day arrives and two women in anguish
Visit the tomb...and angel speaks...their fears vanish.
As Jesus speaks to them...He truly has risen!
He comes through closed doors to disciples in "prison."

Christ eats with His disciples in that upper room
Where they had been filled with fear, dejection and gloom.
He walks and talks with them and tells them to await
The promised Holy Spirit on a future date.

Later they talk with him  - He ascends out of their sight.
"Why do you look to the sky?" say two men in white.
This very same Jesus who's been taken away
Will return in like manner," so be not dismayed.

Our Savior is seated at the right hand of God
Interceding for all His children on this sod.
He live, breathed, died, arose, ascended to Heaven,
God's victory shown over all of earth's leaven.

He shared my humanity and died in my place,
Went back to Heaven to intercede and send Grace.
Like a completion of His Words, "It is finished,"
God furthered Easter's vict'try, New Life replenished!
