Can I Have Joy?

Can I have Joy?

Living under the circumstances -
Is that what life’s about?
Can I have real joy within my heart
Though I can’t sing and shout?

If today is sad and night is long,
Will tomorrow be bright?
Will God hide His face behind a cloud,
Or show me what is right?

My face is down when I should look up,
See His good direction.
He always loves and is always there.
It’s real - His reflection.

Is this old world just falling apart?
Is life a great big mess?
People say “I don’t care anymore!”
Is that what God will bless?

With prayer and faith we can find new joy,
Trust God to lead the way.
His power works in His great wisdom
Though our own feet are clay.

(Geneva Poynter)

“ I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace.  In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]       John 16:33 (Amplified Bible)
