Grasping the Truth

Grasping the Truth

The Gospel is from the very highest Source,
And surpasses earthly authority.
If I don’t accept it… awful remorse.
I’ll give it the highest priority.

Christ died for me to give eternal life.
Some question the Gospel’s sufficiency.
The Sword of the Spirit cuts like a knife
To the marrow in its transcendency.

The Gospel’s not just the initial act
Of accepting His gift of salvation.
It’s the A to Z of Life - it’s a fact -
Way past beginning regeneration!

I have no right to keep it to myself,
I am obliged to take it to the world -
Not to read it, then keep it on the shelf.
May His life in me flow in outward swirl!

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
