Books

I like the feel, the smell of them.
I may just choose one on a whim.

They may tease me with print too small,
Then I find large print after all.

If it’s too big it’s left on the shelf.
That poundage is left by itself.

The kind of “food” my mind devours
Helps it flourish – or it cowers.

It could deepen knowledge of God
So He can use me on this sod.

So, I’ll keep reading books I love
‘Til I’m called to Heaven above.

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
