Doing This Life

We make so many mistakes,
Don’t listen to God and pray.
Life falls apart like earthquakes,
Thinking we know- do things our way.

What’ll it take for us to learn
We can’t do this on our own.
When we live His love to spurn
Life doesn‘t satisfy - we moan.

We need to measure God’s love
By what He’s already done,
Not from feelings and life’s shove.
In Christ, the war’s already won.

Without Christ we’ll just fall short.
The puzzle of life will miss
The last piece of life’s report.
Jesus is the key to all this.

Only in Him are we complete.

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
