Who Is in Control

Who Is In Control

Is God in control when evil’s unleashed?
Think about the death of God’s Son.
Even after His disciples beseeched,
It seemed evil won.  The deed done.

We hope for better but dread something worse.
Who do we think is in control?
Who, when crucifixion seemed to reverse
The reason Christ came - on the whole?

He arose despite all their precautions.
God’s control needs none of  our help.
His will prevails despite rules or motions.
Follow Him - not trying self-help.

Our society thrives on solutions,
But there are things we cannot fix.
Fearful, helpless, we add to confusion -
The evils, hate, we cannot nix.

Our surprises are always, to God, known.
They have a place in His purpose.
Although God just might His judgment postpone,
We know, beyond doubt, He’s for us!

Isaiah 50:10 Amplified Bible

"Who is among you who [reverently] fears the Lord, who obeys the voice of His Servant, yet who walks in darkness and deep trouble and has no shining splendor [in his heart]? Let him rely on, trust in, and be confident in the name of the Lord, and let him lean upon and be supported by his God."
Isaiah 50:10  (Amplified Bible)
