The Great Priority

God promised to send a Deliverer.

The Bible tells us that Jesus has come,

God Incarnate, come to draw us nearer,

His life and death –a stumbling block for some.

There’s only one way to be forgiven –

Repent and accept Jesus’ sacrifice.

Just ask and you’ll be assured of heaven…

The Spirit indwells  - no need to ask twice.

Jesus’ whole priority was teaching.

His short earthly life was spent in that way.

Many followed as His love came reaching –

Offered salvation at Cal’vry one day.

When we tell the Gospel, the Spirit works

Through our daily lives and the words we say.

He’s always on the job – never shirks,

Touching those around us by His love’s sway.

Forgiveness is the greatest need of men.

Prophets brought warnings but could not forgive.

Jesus gave His life our lost souls to win.

By faith in Christ alone, we can forever live!

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
