Trying to Figure Out Life

Can I understand life by my reason?

So much falls short in every lesson.

Question why He didn’t – thinking He could -

When answers don’t come when I think they should.

Was my faith too weak, maybe wavering?

Did I spend much time this earth savoring?

Should I run my own life – quit believing?

Would my own abilities give me wings?

The world’s nearly reasonable – not quite –

Chesterton’s thought, and I think he is right.

The answers come soundly in Gospels penned.

None but Christ Jesus our hearts can ere mend.

So many losses on this earth we find.

We must trust Christ who heals our hearts and minds.
