Shine Through Me

Do I underestimate
God’s love working through me?
See myself of no use
To the One who died for me?

Good talk these days may come hard,
Careful not to offend.
If you don’t watch what’s said
Your conversation will end.

God, please help us ev’ry one
Your messenger to be.
With thoughts true, life that’s “real” -
That Christ, in us, all will see.

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
