Every Day

Ralph Waldo Emerson was wrong-
“Yourself is all there is of you”  he wrote.
“I Gotta be Me”  that old song
Just does not ring true, no matter the quote.

Just being me in my own way
Without regard to the next man’s feelings,
Brings hurt and anger to the fray
And misunderstanding to the dealings.

Let’s don’t excuse the way we act
As if some inborn trait we  cannot change.
God helps us all and that’s a fact
Those who belong to HIM think it not strange.

I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.     Galatians 2:20  Amplified Bible

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
