Desolate – Restored – Finale

Cry out to God for mercy on our land –
Beautiful land – locusts come – nothing’s left.
There goes out a call – return to God’s band.
Repent – turn to God lest we be bereft.

Time, as we know it, cannot be restored.
Fruitless, painful, selfish, rebellious years –
All those are things that we cannot afford.
Communion with God can allay our fears.

To the last day the Spirit will be poured,
But God cannot fill what He does not own.
Are we trusting Him, or is God ignored?
Let go – trust God – stop trying all alone.

There will be a judgment – God has a plan.
God keeps books. “And there I will sit to judge.”
I believe – what God says He’ll show to man.
Christ, only, is my refuge. God won’t budge!

Referring to the 1st chapter of Joel.

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
