Christmas Reflection

Christmas Reflection

They were poor in earth’s stuff but rich in love.

There were no gifts to pass around.

A child’s memory – warm like hand in glove

Reflection remembers family love.

Grinding poverty can make Christmas sad,

But Christians can make it good.

Family together is not just fad.

Times like that made the best of what we had.

A pine in the woods of just the right size

Makes a beautiful Christmas tree.

Construction paper chains, when the glue dried,

Great decorations made by the “small fries.”

On reflection, good Christmas remember –

Determined that we’d make it good –

Working to decorate that December.

It’s HIS birthday – no distractions hinder.

“And she wrapped him in swaddling cloths

and laid him in a manger because there was

no room in the inn.”
