True Freedom

True Freedom

Isaiah pictured Israel as God’s vineyard.
He loved and blessed and guided them.
They broke His moral laws and became the blackguard,
So He had to punish His gem.

When a nation ignores God and rejects His Word,
Then it reaps a bitter harvest.
When it is our OWN will and way that is preferred,
Troubles will come at His bequest.

Freedoms of choice and rights and saying what we want
Are some things we take for granted.
A visit to some regions of this very land
Shows there are those disenchanted.

What about He Who is the Lord of the vineyard…
Any thoughts re: the rights of God?
Do we give gratitude to Him and read His Word?
“God Bless America” …  facade?

Following His Word and way… there lies true freedom!
Wild grapes and lust don’t bring to us
The fulfilling and lasting joys that will become
Ours… if we love and honor God thus.

“True freedom is not in having our own way, but in yielding to God’s way” -  Our Daily Bread
