Truth and Grace

His name was Truth and he was proud,
But he could be mean, yell at you.
He was the boss of that big crowd
Who followed him were quite a few.

Her name was Grace and she was nice,
No rules,  help but no direction.
She liked Truth and dated him twice,
But he was harsh, no affection.

Truth was against all the right stuff -
Lying, cheating and drunkeness.
He convicted people, was gruff!
No acceptance - oh, what a mess!

Grace really needed Truth you see.
Each of them alone did not work,
Were torn apart in Eden’s flee,
Water, coffee pot, but no perk.

Combine them and Jesus is there -
No hiding from God or others.
God’s blessings rain down, lives repaired.
Healing happens - judgment smothers.
