Life

When I was young, my Mother said
There will come times when things you’ll dread.

Please give your life to Jesus now.
Ask Him to guide and show you how.

He gave joy as sins I confessed ,
Made that decision that He blessed.

I’m young and vital then it seems
Just full of plans and all my dreams.

Life got busy - lived day to day -
Knew what I wanted - my own way.

There were so many things to do.
‘Twas mostly my plans - Jesus knew.

One day life hit me in the face
Since I’d traveled at such a pace.

Now I’m “all-of-a-sudden” old.
It happens that way I’ve been told.

Now time is spent in God’s own Word
Thanking and praying.  I know I’m heard.

He sends blessings - I wait on Him.
He fills my cup beyond the brim!

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
