Soul's Agony

Soul’s agony

Psalm chapter thirteen speaks to human pain.
Grief when I’ve lost a loved one dear.
Christians aren’t exempt from pain and anguish,
Strain in family – loved ones near.

Am I an old version of yesterday?
He cleansed others. He can cleanse me.
I’ll set my heart, mind to oppose my sin,
Carefully think and look to Thee.

So weary of grief and struggles in life,
Sometimes it seems I’ve lost all hope.
Those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
Trust – not sorrow or sit to mope.

How long must I struggle with this, dear Lord?
Help endurance ‘til I know why.
Help me to lean into what I do know
Of eternal love from on high.

Psalm 13

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
