Only Need to Sow the Seed

Christ captured my mind, heart and will.
I am a Christian his way to fulfill.

I am saved, saved to tell others.
I won’t skip it - no matter my “druthers.”

What’ll happen when I sow the Word?
Different affects from lives will be heard.

Seed was sown and then came the plow.
Thus it was in Bible days, anyhow.

Some don’t care and some won’t listen
No matter how Biblical truths glisten.

Some are “into it” right away,
But disappear quickly like some cache`.

Some grow up among weeds and thorns,
Their own dreams crowd out as the Bible warns.

Others hear and do understand.
Their lives bear much fruit at the Lord’s command.

Many seeds are twisted and flawed.
The fruit-bearing seed is the Word of God.

It takes patience in some respects,
But you never know where God will plow next.

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
