Living  Hope

Resurrection power, also at work in me,

Will accomplish all God desires.

There is no going back, reversing course, you see.

I want to stoke my waning fires.

The mystery of Easter, the foundation stone,

Upon which all my hope is built,

In resurrection will place NEW flesh on my bone,

Dead, buried, raised, never to wilt!

Yes, I remember, this is the core of my faith,

The basis on which all else rests,

The resurrection of Jesus, His life, His death,

Christ’s empty tomb, now all else bests!

Jesus chose to keep His scars past that Easter morn.

It’s something I can’t overlook.

He knows my pain, hears my prayers, and He’ll never scorn

The penitent… it’s in The Book!

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
