Abiding in Hard Times

It is hard to love the sinner, yet hate the sin.

Jesus did it, their souls to win.

Can I love Muslims yet hate what radicals do?

HE'S the standard for me and you.

Your rights halt at the end of my nose…that’s true.

What of hateful things people do?

Do I get angry and rant and call them vile names,

Or draw close to God and His claims?

Someone said, “Start at the Judgment and work backward.”

What is it I want to record?

My need is to draw closer to God and His Word

So His love, through me, is transferred.

When I draw close and get to know Him much better,

My life will tell…to the letter.

To really know Him and hide His Word in my heart

Is the key…His love to impart.

To KNOW Him and the pow’r of His resurrection

Was Paul’s yearning…not perfection.

That’s my hearts desire in these the last of my years.

As I seek it, I’ll trust and obey until He appears!
