Waiting

I don’t understand why some people say

“Time drags on and on so slowly for me.”

I think I’d be occupied, come what may,

But now the scene I’m beginning to see.

In these past days I’m so tired I can’t think.

What is it that I should be doing now?

I’ve cleaned up all my dishes in the sink.

There’s things I need to do but don’t know how.

I’ll rest today and maybe tomorrow

Just go out with a precious friend for lunch.

The devastating affects of sorrow

Are falling on me like bricks by the bunch.

I’ll call someone who knows what to do next,

An efficient, well-organized person,

And wait on my Lord – remember His Texts.

I won’t panic and cause things to worsen.

“They that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength.

They shall mount up with wings like eagles.

They shall run and not be weary, they shall walk

and not faint.”  Isaiah 40:31

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
