Beloved Country

I love this country, this America –

‘Though I’m on my way to Heaven –

So I plan and work to take care of her

And prod her to be behavin'.

A citizen of the country I love,

According to physical birth,

I am guided by The Heavenly Dove

Daily, while I live here on earth.

God’s Word says “Set your mind on things above”

And “not on the things of the earth.”

It’s because of Christ’s sacrifice of love

That mankind can know the New Birth.

I’m an ambassador to the U.S.

As I’m traveling through this world.

Eternal life’s wonderful to possess

No matter how life may get snarled.

So I pray for this country that I love

That God will help, always guide Her.

Her tenets to God’s don’t fit like a glove.

Lord, help her turn,  to God defer.
