It Was Always God's Plan

It Was Always God’s Plan

Do I hurry through life, or stop to think,

Not satisfied with where I am?

Always thinking of what comes next – the brink

Of a lifetime, all in a jam?

Our “instant” world, rapid technologies –

Efficiency-driven workplace –

A quickened pace – try the bosses to please –

Is that the pace that we must face?

God is never portrayed in a hurry.

He has never been bound by time.

Our achievements do not His praise curry.

His wisdom brings reason and rhyme.

Slowly – unfolded God’s planned redemption.

After Jesus lived thirty years

In His relatively obscured mention,

Then He, the sin of mankind bears.

After so much time people come to mock.

Why on earth would God wait so long?

It seems now the world has just run amuck,

But He calls His own to stay strong.

If we allow, the journey will shape us,

Mold us who do belong to Him.

Praise God, He remembers that we are dust.

He’ll help us to grow with vigor and vim.

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
