A Thousand Years

This old world is hostile and dangerous.
How can there be peace on earth?
Will security be found among us?
Can we accept such a dearth?

When you read The Word there is wondrous hope
Future will bring peace on Earth.
If you believe it, they’ll say you’re a dope.
Child, lion, lamb -  peace from birth.

We will be able to sit in our homes.
No one will make us afraid
In Chicago, Los Angeles or Nome.
In Jesus our lives are staid.

Then read “the Lord Almighty has spoken.”
I know it’s not just a dream -
I’m not just talking about some token,
Not just words nor man-made scheme.

It’s not Heaven, but we look forward to
What’s promised in the Bible.
We’ll live in peace on earth with Jesus who
We know -  there is no rival.

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
