Selfish

Many rich people don't obey God's Law.
When it's time to give, they withdraw.
Some of Earth's people are by greed beset.
The time to give, they just "forget."

Can I love others as I love myself-
Put my selfishness on the shelf?
It's really freeing to love and not judge,
To do what God says and not budge.

For ev'ry grievance there's time to let go.
God's Holy Word says this is so.
Our real problem is stubbornness of heart.
We'll yield to Him if we are smart.

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
