Can We Resist Fear?

Can We Resist Fear?

Fear is a natural, human reaction

When we meet difficult, dangerous things.

This comes before we achieve satisfaction

Or accomplish the things of which we dream.

If we don’t understand what it means to fear,

Are we living in a really real place?

In the midst of the chaos that we find here

Is there something really real we can trace?

God understands and He does not condemn us,

But He does not want us to be crippled.

He knows our thoughts and doesn’t think we’re some yutz

Even when this earth’s dangers are tripled.

Can God then turn our fear into fortitude?

Can we trust Him and then not be afraid?

Should confidence in Him be our attitude?

Has He helped us before – confidence staid?

Let’s at least try to resist fear with faith in our Lord.

Joshua 1:9
