May We Not Seek Our Desires, But Go

May We Not Seek Our Own Desires, But God!

God’s word says to seek HIS desires! Not our own!

And to seek HIS holiness, in our hearts and homes!

There are spiritual wars, that battle for our soul!

From every evil temptation, we must let go!

Each day, these battles continue on!

It’s a battle for doing what is right or wrong!

God’s word must be the moral

 compass for our direction...

We need to seek this for much needed correction!

We need to present ourselves, as pure to God above!

And desire to be filled with his goodness and love!

We need to be filled with things virtuous and good.

And desire to live as a follower of Christ should!

We must run fast from the “sinful traps”

we encounter!

And desire God’s holiness,

his love and power!

God wants for each of us, HIS very best!

All ungodly desires in our life

need to be “put to rest!”

God’s will in each of us,

must to be our goal!

Only Jesus can truly make

 us complete and whole!

Why not allow God to give you,

HIS peace and contentment?

And give him your life!  With a 100% commitment?

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
