Please Forgive Me Jesus!

I know that I’ve made mistakes in my lifetime.

I’ve told myself that I’d change. ..  Sometime!

I’ve had many promises and hope that disappeared.

Things in life are not always as they would appear.

For all of my sins and failures, I will confess.

My life seems to have turned out into a huge mess!

There were promises to God that I made back then.

Only later in life, I was “pulled down” by sin.

After my journey in life, the door of eternity awaits.

After this life, I wonder if I’ll enter heaven’s gates?

I’ve many accomplishments, and good deeds…

But I also know that the word of God reads.

I need the blood of Christ for a spiritual transfusion.

I have failures and problems…    Jesus is the solution!

The blood of Christ provides forgiveness of sin.

It’s only through Christ, that I can be born again.

It’s only through Christ that I can find atonement.

It’s through him, that I can be changed this moment!

I want to take this moment and ask Christ to cleanse me.

I ask for his spirit to come, and change me!

I ask Jesus to forgive me of the wrongs I’ve committed.

To his “heavenly hospital,” I want to be admitted!

He’s given me everlasting joy!  I’ve no reason to doubt him!

It’s every day now my Lord…

That I want to be with him!

Thank you Jesus!  For working your love through me!

You've given me life!   So abundantly!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
