What Happened to My Passion for Chr

What Happened to My Passion For Christ?

I once loved to talk about Jesus to others…

I was proud of him, and didn’t seem “bothered.”

I remember witnessing to others and being called a “fool.”

I wasn’t ashamed of God, no matter the “rules.”

I had a passion to see others forgiven of sin…

A passion and zeal to see others born again!

I loved my Jesus!  Yes…  I really did!

I had so much of his love I wanted to give!

Look at me now, after all these years!

I’ve “given in” to my own worries and fears!

I don’t talk about Jesus, like I really should…

“Talking about Jesus?”  I keep it under “my hood.”

I’m not ashamed to talk about my family!

Why not talk about someone who made me happy?

It was Jesus who put my life back together!

I tried to remove him from my life forever!

“I’m so sorry Lord!”  “I let you down!”

I asked for God’s forgiveness and fell to the ground!

I felt the Lord’s hand and his special touch!

He said; “get up my son!”

  “I love you so much!”

A new passion for Christ began to brew!

I shouted out loud… “Jesus…  I LOVE YOU!”

I’m not ashamed to tell others of Christ any longer!

My passion to serve Christ…  I didn’t ponder!

I love to share his love wherever I go!

Christ has redeemed and purchased my soul!

He is and shall always be the Lord for me!

I once was lost…

But now I AM FREE!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
