God's Always There to Pick Me Up!

God’s Always There to Pick Me Up!

One day, I found myself “falling to the ground.”

Any hope for me, was nowhere to be found.

The satisfaction I was looking for, wasn’t there.

I got to the point in life, where I didn’t care!

There were some things I tried to hide.

But this body of mine was hurting inside!

The habits I had, were pulling

me in a “downward momentum.”

The things I did…  I don’t want to mention them!

I knew that my life was crashing down fast!

Any kind of “real pleasure,” didn’t last!

What was I going to do?  I began to ponder.

I was very confused and began to wonder…

Then one night, I cried out, in Jesus’ name.

Things in my life would never be the same!

I cried, “Lord…Will you take me?”

 “I’ve nothing to give!”

I was discouraged and tired of the way I lived!

Just when all seemed hopeless with no way out…

God touched me with his love all throughout!

As time went by, I learned to trust him!

He did so much for me!  How much I love him!

He took away the uncertainties, doubts and fear.

I now know he’s with me.  He’s always here!

I’ m walking on solid ground!  My path is brightened!

By God’s glory and beauty, my life is enlightened!

I thank you Jesus and give praise to you alone!

You’ve blessed my life, my heart and home!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
