Life Is Short...

Life Is Short....

Life is to short....it goes by too fast,
what you do for Christ is a treasure
that will last.

I know we get busy with our
house and nice cars,
food on the table, plenty
of "cookies in the jars."

We forget the time we spend
with our family,
trying to live our lives pretending
we're happy.

We want to show off "our" possessions
and charm,
but are walking in much
danger and harm.

When our true love is not
Jesus, but things,
our "wealth", our house,
diamonds and rings.

On the inside, we're empty,
God's love we're without,
we forget what being a child of God
is all about.

Return to your first love
don’t hesitate...
Do it now....the hour's growing late!!!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
