I Was at Life's Dead End Road!

I Was at Life’s Dead End Road!

I’ve been to the point where

I thought my life would end.

I felt alone...  With no one I could

 call “my friend.”

I was at a place where

I felt “trapped within.”

The emptiness I felt...  I really don’t

know where to begin.

I’ve been to what many would call;

 “life’s dead end road.”

I felt like I was carrying

 “a very heavy load.”

I decided to get down on my knees.

Wondering if anyone were

 listening to me.

I had many discouraging

 thoughts enter my mind.

Any true peace or joy…

I haven’t been able to find.

I’m taking the time and giving it thought…

What kind of life…  Have I really got?

The things I desired and obtained…

Come and go as quickly as they came.

As a young man, I remember

 hearing of a savior’s love.

A gift of abundant life…

God’s gift from above!

I read in the Bible where Jesus

can give true contentment.

A life filled with true joy, peace and fulfillment.

I ask that you Jesus, will do

 what one else can do.

Cleanse me within,

and make my life brand new!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
